In an effort to highlight our veterans and armed service men and women who serve our country, the Town has begun a program in which families can purchase banners to be displayed at our Veterans Memorial Park.

Each banner is printed double-sided on 18” x 36” durable vinyl. Each banner is custom made to honor a specific Hometown Hero who is or has been a First Responder or has served or is currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. Any Hometown Hero can be recognized, whether he or she is still be with us or has passed. The banner will have the service person’s name, picture, military branch or profession listed and years of service. The individual being recognized does NOT have to be a Town of Wallkill resident but the banners will be hung on a first come first serve bases with a preference to Wallkill residents. The town’s Parks Department will hang the banners before Memorial day and will keep them on display until after Veterans’ Day. The deadline for submitting an application is March 25, 2022 to be part of the initial banner display. Each banner costs $200 and all proceeds go to the funding of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in the Town of Wallkill Memorial Park across from Maddy’s Diner. Banners are guaranteed to be displayed for the next two years (2022-2023). After that, it is yours to keep.
